About Us

Keas Keasler is in his third year of the Master of Divinity program. Originally from Dallas, TX, he most recently lived in Miami, FL, where he worked in a Baptist church and led an intentional community in the inner city. Keas has a small speaking ministry and is a part of a Anabaptist church in Philadelphia. He loves the global church, having traveled to over 30 countries and worked with Christians from around the world. What Keas appreciates most in Tom Wright’s work is his “big picture of scripture” which encompasses narrative theology, political theology, and resurrection and new creation as the foundation of Christian mission.

Laura Powell is a third year theology student, hoping to complete a joint M.Div/M.S.W. program through Princeton Theological Seminary and Rutgers University. She comes from a non-denominational evangelical background (think: megachurch), but has recently developed a love for urban ministry and social justice. She LOVES Philadelphia and is part of beautiful and challenging church community in the city where a new picture of God is revealed every day. Through this study, Laura hopes to learn a bit more about how to make the intellectual study of theology life changing for people in the local church.

Andrew Wilkes is a third year student in the Master of Divinity program. He committed to following Christ at the age of fifteen, and heard the call to preach a year later. He preaches on occasion at local churches and college campuses, having preached at Hampton, Norfolk State, and Princeton Universities. Andrew is a former policy and organizing fellow of Sojourners, and a frequent contributor to their God’s Politics blog. While at Sojourners he encountered - and thoroughly enjoyed - Tom Wright’s Simply Christian and Surprised By Hope. In particular, Andrew is drawn to Wright’s theology of the body as a foundation for Christian sexual ethics and social justice work that anticipates God’s Kingdom.
